What Is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a feeling of fear, panic, nervousness or uneasiness. For some people, the anxious feeling goes away after a short period, when they perceive the threat to be over, and they can begin to feel calmer again. However, the feeling does not switch off, and it becomes an anxiety disorder.

What Causes Anxiety?


Everyone feels anxious sometimes, before a job interview or an exam, for example.

Certain events can make us more anxious than others, and the triggers can be different for everyone.

Some triggers are universal, others are personal.

You may be more at risk if anxiety runs in your family, or if you have lived through several stressful events.

Anxiety can often manifest in our teenage years, and if left untreated, it can spiral out of control. However, it doesn't need to be this way.

Anxiety shows up in three ways: in your body, in your thoughts, and in how you behave. Most people feel the physical signs (tight chest, racing heart, shallow breathing) before they notice the worry behind them.

Overcoming Your Anxiety

I combine talking therapy with practical, heart led techniques that work with the subconscious mind and the nervous system, because that is where lasting change happens. The toolkit includes NLP (I am a Master Practitioner), Neuroscience, Hypnosis, Human Behaviour Change, Emotional Change Therapy, Nervous System Therapy and Timeline Therapy, and I touch on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy where it helps. There are two main ways to initially work with me on a one to one basis: The 3 Month Signature Solution Package for a lasting shift, or the 90 minute Nervous System Reset session if you want practical techniques and tools more than a full transformation.
