As an anxiety specialist, Jennifer believes that no one needs to let anxiety dominate their life, and we all have the capability within us to overcome it.
Why See An Anxiety Specialist?
If you are struggling with anxiety, why would you go to a generic coach or counsellor when you can see an anxiety specialist? Every client I work with has come to me because anxiety is holding them back in one of more areas of their life.
Anxiety is the feeling of worry, overwhelm, nervousness, unease or fear about an event or outcome. Everybody feels some anxiety at points in their lives, such as during an exam or a job interview, however when our fears and anxieties have an impact on our everyday lives, and stop us functioning at our best, it is time to seek help.
Anxiety is the symptom of many disorders, such as Social Anxiety Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Separation Anxiety Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and phobias such as agoraphobia and claustrophobia. Anxiety can result in Addictions, Perfectionism and Procrastination, .
Many people suffer from anxiety for many years of their lives, and this holds them back from achieving so much. Anxiety affects adults, teenagers and children.
What are the symptoms?
There are many signs and symptoms that you may experience due to anxiety, such as:
- Heart palpitations
- Nausea
- Feeling dizzy
- Insomnia
- Headaches
- Shaking
- Feeling of fear
- Hyperventilating
When Is The Right Time To Seek Help?
Just as you would go to the doctor if you have physical ill health, it is equally important to speak to an Anxiety Specialist if you are struggling with your mental health. Anxiety is often deep rooted and a doctor can rarely understand the root cause of your anxiety in a 7 minute appointment, hence the reliance on medicating the underlying issue, rather that resolving it.
The sooner you seek help, the more likely it is that you can manage your symptoms before they damage your quality of your life, your relationships, your career or your emotional wellbeing.
